Return of the Alpine pastures
Take the opportunity to enjoy a timeless and intergenerational event on October 13, 2018 at our Mont-Blanc hotel: the return of the Alpine pastures.
October is an important month for the herds, it marks the arrival of winter and the return of animals to the valleys.
This tradition, which dates back to the Middle Ages, is celebrated every year, thanks to the Annecy-Traditions association. You are invited to observe the farm animals, local crafts, and taste the products of the region. You can participate in folk songs and dances by listening to the unique sounds of traditional instruments.
This event is a magnificent communion that deserves to travel with these herds of animals, these period costumes, this warm and immutable atmosphere.
The program of the day for this 45th edition!
In the morning, craftsmen and animals settle in the city. At 2:30 pm, you will see the famous parade of animals: geese, cows, St Bernard dogs, donkeys, hens, horses, goats, sheep and groups in traditional costumes. Then you can enjoy the entertainment until the end of the afternoon. We strongly advise you to arrive early in the morning as this event is very successful and it is not easy to find a parking space.

It will be an opportunity to taste the excellent delicatessen, tartiflette, raclette, fondue, Tome, Emmental, Reblochon, Beaufort as well as the delicious pastries. Then you'll be ready for winter!
